Recreation, Conservation & Adventure for Middle Tennessee!
Nothing beats a well packed backpack when campning or hiking Tennessee! A light load is key for long distance hiking and slightly heavier load will work when you're not hiking as far to your campsite. Either way, be prepared! Backpacks are very personal and must be fitted to the wearer. Improperly fitting packs are not only uncomfortable but can cause physical damage. Be sure to get one that is adjustable and has a padded hip belt. Carrying heavy loads can be back-breaking and downright treacherous on rough terrain. So pack smart. Here is a basic checklist for packing you backpack.
