Water Quality:
Everything in the air and on the ground eventually makes its way down to the water tables. Pollutants from factories, construction sites, vehicles and homes are the culprits. Never dump anything outside that isn't biodegradable.
Warning signs can be found in several of our streams in Tennessee. These signs point out pollution that can cause serious illness to humans. Imagine the impact this pollution is having on local wildlife & plantlife. This water eventually becomes part of our drinking water. So take the time to protect our water quality by being responsible for your actions and by looking for and reporting potential water quality hazards. Vehicles affect our water quality by emitting carbon pollution or leaking toxic liquids onto our ground that will end up in our water supply. Take your car to a shop for service, so oil & radiator fluid is disposed of correctly. Inspect & fix leaks from your vehicle. Buy vehicles that produce little or no carbon pollution. Using non-toxic, natural cleaners at home and work will also help with our water quality, as these cleaners make their way back into the environment. Especially if you use a septic tank system, which spreads waste water into septic fields.
